Our Story

I needed to sublease my room.
Facebook was chaos.

I'm Jatin — an AI and robotics researcher splitting time between Austin and India. I built SubletSync because I needed it myself.

The problem was personal.

When I needed to sublease my room in Austin for the spring and summer, I did what everyone does: posted in Facebook groups.

What followed was a mess. Fake accounts DMing me. People ghosting after saying they were interested. No way to verify if someone was even a real student. I'd scroll through hundreds of posts with no way to filter by dates, price, or neighborhood. And the worst part — my listing would get buried within a day, so I had to repost the same thing every few days just to stay visible.

So I built SubletSync — a free sublease marketplace where every lister verifies with their .edu email, LinkedIn, or government ID.

You can search by exact move-in and move-out dates, filter by budget and neighborhood, and message listers directly — without the Facebook chaos.

My own room was the first listing on here. This isn't a VC-backed startup with a marketing budget — it's a tool I built because I needed it, and I think you might need it too.

What makes SubletSync different.

Built from frustration, designed around trust.

Free to use

Browsing, messaging, and posting are free. Always will be.

Verification first

.edu emails, LinkedIn, and government ID — you know who you're talking to.

Built for short-term

Exact date matching, roommate details, amenity costs — the stuff Facebook posts never include.

No spam, no scams

Every listing is from a verified person. Report anything sketchy — we review within 24 hours.

If you're subleasing this summer — or looking for a place — I'd love for you to try it.
