ID Verified
Full government ID check via Stripe Identity. Confirms your legal name and identity match your document. The strongest badge — visible on every listing and message thread.
Unverified listings are still allowed — we believe in access. But verified listings are ranked higher and convert faster. Renters can filter by verification level.

Browsing and messaging is free. Posting a listing is free. Featured listings ($9.99) give your listing more visibility in search results. The Verified badge is $3 — it covers the cost of government ID verification via Stripe Identity.
What does “verified” actually mean?
Verification happens at two levels: .edu email (shows your student status as a label on your profile), and Stripe Identity (government ID — earns you the Verified badge). The badge is binary: you have it or you don't.
What's the difference between a sublease and a lease takeover?
Sublease:You keep your name on the lease and temporarily transfer occupancy for a fixed window. You're still legally responsible if the subletter doesn't pay. Best for summer internships or semesters abroad.
Lease takeover:You transfer the lease entirely to a new tenant — they take your name, liability, and terms. You're off the hook. Requires landlord approval.
Roommate replacement: One person on a shared lease leaves and needs to be replaced. Remaining roommates and landlord need to approve. Common mid-lease in 2–4 bedroom apartments.
Is subleasing legal?
Subleasing legality depends on your lease and local laws. SubletSync is a discovery platform — you're responsible for ensuring your sublease complies with your lease terms. We recommend checking with your landlord before listing.
How do payments work?
SubletSync is a discovery and communication platform — payment terms are arranged directly between you and the lister. We recommend using a written agreement and a traceable payment method. Never pay someone you haven't verified.
